CD Prokekt Red Say There’s No Place for Multiplayer in The Witcher 3
Michal Platkow-Gilewski, head of marketing at CD Projekt Red, has stated that there is “no place for multiplayer in so strongly a story driven game as The Witcher 3”. In response to rumours of a new multiplayer feature being implemented to the franchise, Michal told Eurogamer:
“We want to focus on the single-player experience, delivering more than 100 hours of truly immersive gameplay.
“Geralt,” he said, “can be only one…”
In addition to this news, project lead Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has said that the company stands by it’s anti-DRM policy, referring to it as “the worst thing in the gaming industry”. This could cause problems if there are plans to release Wild Hunt on the next Xbox console should the rumoured always-on internet connection feature be implemented.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released some time in 2014.
