GTA V Takes In $1 Billion In 3 Days

Grand Theft Auto V has made $1 billion faster than any other entertainment product ever. It quite emphatically beat Call of Duty: Black Ops II to the milestone by 12 days. GTA V made $800 million in the first 24 hours of its release. Whilst the figures are based on analytics by distributor Take-Two Interactive itself, they are very impressive.

Take-Two Chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick: “We are incredibly proud of the extraordinary critical and commercial response to Grand Theft Auto V.”

The success and numbers will probably come as no surprise to anyone who queued up for the midnight launch on Monday evening and has glanced at their friends list online since. Literally everyone in on my Xbox Live friends list is playing GTA V. That’s no misuse of the word “literally” either!
