Kickstart This (20th Feb 2014)

KickStart This is where GimmeDigital trawls through the depths of KickStarter so you don’t have to, finding and sharing the coolest, funkiest and oddest tech, movie and gaming projects.

PrioVR: Suit up. Game on.

PrioVR uses high-performance inertial sensors to provide 360 degrees of low-latency, real-time motion tracking without the need for cameras, optics, line-of-sight, or large, awkward equipment. PrioVR’s sensors are placed on key points of your body to capture your movements and translate them on-screen in real-time. PrioVR is wireless, allows for multiple simultaneous users, and will work anywhere – indoors or out, in capture spaces of any size.

PrioVR is available in three versions, the Core, the Lite, and the Pro, all of which are wireless and compatible with each other. All suits include two hand-controllers with action buttons, triggers, and joysticks. The joysticks let you easily navigate through large worlds without actually walking, while the trigger supports a familiar shooting experience.

COZY: Control your Radiator from your Phone

The Cozy is a designer radiator cover that’s easy to install and Wi-Fi enabled, so you can use the Cozy app on your smartphone to program times, set temperatures, and even activate vacation settings.

Place the Cozy over your radiator, plug it in, and set your perfect apartment temperature: never have to sweat, freeze, play with radiator knobs or micro-manage your windows in the winter again.

PLAY

PLAY aims to conjure (not merely capture) our shared memories of playing together by creating a pastiche of experience. A dozen children will play in a New York City playground, doing whatever they like, however they please, and with whomever they wish to play. Each child will wear a GoPro camera recording what she or he sees and does and hears; more perspectives will be gained from static cameras inside the playground, camera operators outside the grounds, and perhaps even an aerial view.
