Canon Announce The PowerShot SX520 HS and SX400 IS

Canon today unveiled two new bridge cameras, ideal for capturing hidden details, both near and far – the PowerShot SX520 HS and PowerShot SX400 IS. Boasting 42x and 30x optical zooms, both models incorporate Canon’s optical expertise in stunning, highly compact bodies – ideal for capturing virtually any special occasion in the quality it deserves.

The PowerShot SX520 HS is powered by Canon’s acclaimed HS System, which combines a DIGIC 4+ processing engine with a high-sensitivity 16 megapixel, back-illuminated CMOS sensor – delivering sharp and detailed results, with realistic colours, even in low light. The PowerShot SX400 IS is perfect for shooting from sunrise to sunset, with a 16 megapixel CCD sensor and DIGIC 4+, giving stunning results, time after time. The SX520 HS makes discovering your inner creativity easy, with Creative Shot. If you choose, every time you press the shutter the camera can automatically apply any one of 46 special effects, each arranged into four categories. Creative Shot unleashes a new perspective on images, by simply creating five additional files when you shoot – each with a different creative effect. The PowerShot SX400 IS meanwhile features a range of Creative Filters, including Fisheye and Monochrome.

The PowerShot SX520 HS will be available in Ireland from August 2014 with an RRP of €359 and the PowerShot SX400 IS will be available in January exclusively from Argos with an RRP of €315
