PSA: Vodafone Mail Closing Down From October 18th
Vodafone is closing down its Vodafone Mail email service on October 18th. According to an email sent out today, customers will have up until this date to export any important emails and contacts. As the email (posted below) says, the move is being made in order to comply with data protection regulations.
While there may not be many who have used the service for day-to-day use, there may be some who have used it for logging into other accounts (like Facebook, Twitter, etc.,). These accounts will need to be updated with a new contact email address before October 18th to avoid losing the ability to reset passwords or otherwise receive notifications.
IMPORTANT SERVICE ANNOUNCMENT – PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING
From 18 October 2014, Vodafone Webmail will no longer be available. In order to comply with data protection regulations, all your information, emails and contacts will be deleted by Vodafone and therefore no longer available for you to access.
What you need to do…
In order to safeguard your data for your continued personal use, you must transfer all the content currently in your Vodafone Webmail to an alternative webmail service. Otherwise you can download your information to a remote storage device, such as a USB device. If you do not complete this action by this date, your data on Vodafone Webmail will be deleted and will not be accessible.
Be sure to complete your content transfer before 18 October 2014.
