Wii Games Coming To Wii U eShop

In today’s Europe-based Nintendo Direct, it was announced that Wii games will be coming to Wii U, downloadable from the Nintendo eShop. The first title available is Super Mario Galaxy 2, which can be downloaded now.

It will be followed by Punch-Out!! on January 22nd and Metroid Prime: Trilogy on January 29th. All games will be compatible natively with the Wii U gamepad, won’t require Wii Mode to run and they’ll be on sale for the first week after release. That means you can get Super Mario Galaxy 2 for the introductory price of €9.99 for the next week, it will normally cost €19.99.

Nintendo also announced the first cross-buy title for Wii U and 3DS will be Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars, which will release on March 20th.
