Rumour: Apple To Launch Web-Based TV Service

Rumours are hitting the web that Apple is in talks with a few content providers to launch its own web-based TV service. Re/code has released a report claiming Apple plans to launch a TV service that would sell bundles of programming to customers over the web. This would let customers avoid having cable subscriptions, though they would potentially lose some of the content offered by regular TV providers.

According to the report, the content would be coupled with Apple’s own user interface. Re/code says sources have revealed Apple is already pretty far along with development of the service that would actually host the content. This report from re/code backs up many years of rumors that Apple has wanted to get into the TV content business.
