Is Grip The Rollcage Spiritual Successor We Were Looking For?

Not too long ago, we highlighted Formula Fusion as the spiritual successor to the anti-grav racer WipEout, now another Psygnosis futuristic racer Rollcage has its own heir apparent in the shape of Grip from Caged Element.

The developer, a two man team (one of whom worked on the original Rollcage games), are currently looking to be get added to Steam via Greenlight and are planning a Kickstarter campaign to launch within a month.

While a PC version seems to be the priority, they haven’t rules out a console version and responded to a question about the possibility: “We’re deep into exploring this idea and would love to be [able] to promise a PSN version of the game via Kickstarter, but it’s not that simple. We’ll keep you updated”.

Let’s hope they can also get some 90s-esque big beat tunes to go along with the action!

Here’s the short teaser trailer showing off gameplay on one pre-production race track…
