UPC Ireland Officially Rebrands As Virgin Media Next Week

Richard Branson attended a Virgin Group press announcement in Dublin today in conjunction with the takeover of phone and internet provider UPC Ireland.

An excited Branson told reporters, “We have a great foundation to build on and there are no limits to what we want to achieve for our customers.”

Using Ireland’s existing Three network, Virgin price plan offers unlimited data, texts, and calls. Similarly a “quad-play” bundle will provide tv, internet, and phone services in one package. Specific details about these plans are still unknown though current UPC customers can avail of three free months of the service with a monthly rate of €25 after that.

“Transforming the UPC business into Virgin Media will keep our customers at the heart of everything we do,” saysMagnus Ternsjo, CEO of Virgin Media in Ireland. “It will bring magic to our overall offerings and change the Irish telecommunications market for good.”

UPC will transition and rebrand as Virgin Media on Monday October 5.
